How could "They're real" not make you laugh?! I LOVED this product name as soon as I saw it - and then when I saw the Facebook campaign, it just got better. Brilliant work, Benefit. Tongue in cheek and by the girls, for the girls. So far, I've had to say "they're real" about my lips only - when I got accused of collagen-ing! Please help me to say it about my eyelashes too! @SohoPRGirl

My favourite Benefit product name (if I understood the post and you have to write them here) is Watt's Up.
I'm not sure what exactly it is about that name that really makes me laugh, I think it's the lightbulb idea - because, really, what is the product meant to do but light up the face? I also think the colloquial nature of the phrase is part of why I like it - it makes me think that, wearing this, I could be the kind of person who goes around being cheeky and greeting everyone

. said...

Watt's up has to be one of my favourite names that I can think of off the top of my head. It reminds me of a rather kooky physics teacher we had that used to try a *bit* too hard to make thirty-odd teenage girls think physics was cool.

I love "watt's up" the face high lighter name.

The beauty industry is renowned for playing on words that convey messages of success, beauty, attractiveness and happiness. However it is nice to see Benefit teaming up with a not so stereotypical word BUT still manage to make a girl feel what the product offers; brightness, luminous and shining!

Its got to be Bella Bamba for me. When it was first released, it took me back to my childhood when I used to watch a film (Ive got no idea what its called) but it had the Ba Bamba song in it. You know the one... "Ba-Ba-Bamba Ba-Ba-Bamba... Por Ti Sere Por Ti Sere" I well thought I was a dark haired beauty dancing and singing away.

You so need to google it and you'll know exactly what song it is and what film it came from! Its real I promise! haha.

Though not a particularly funny name, the Big Beautiful Eyes palette always brings back a memory.
After an evening of dancing my friend and I went to touch up our make up. In a drunken haze, and thinking I looked fab I gazed into the mirror only to realise my mascara had smudged all under my eyes and one of my false eyelashes was hanging off. I wasn't keen on channeling the panda look and thankfully my friend had that palette, she re touched my make up and sent me out there looking fab!

The product that makes me giggle whenever I see/use/think of it is the Hoola bronzing powder. The reason is because I purchased it last summer, before my exams. And there was a zoology exam that had animals behaviour in a chapter. And described the dance the Sula birds (real cuties may I add here-yes I'm a biology nerd) do. I generally cannot remember names of any species, so in order to do so I combined Sula with Hoola. And I was imagining the Hoola doing the Sula dance. Which, trust me, it is way too funny.
Needless to say that I aced the test (one of the questions was the dance), and that now whenever I see/use or think of Hoola, I keep bringing the Sula-Hoola dance in my head. And laugh at random times.
:D

ps.it gives me killer cheekbones as well, so smiling to show them off is always a good thing.

I'm with Jo: Bella Bamba just makes me smile.

I'm a kid of the 80s and La Bamba was all around when I was little. I remember when my ballet class had a recital and in the end, after all the boring classical stuff, all of us little girls were dancing to La Bamba in our cute pink tutus. Thinking about that still makes me giggle.

My favourite product name from Benefit is definitely "Confessions of a Concealaholic". I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I first saw it - it hit way too close to home! It brought back memories of my very first concealer which I LOVED despite the colour mismatch and terrible cakiness. I was obsessed with its heavy coverage and put it everywhere on my pimply teenage grease face to a point where I would actually DRAW blemishes on my face just so I could conceal something and then go ooohh and aaah over its concealing powers :D Ah, to be 16 again!

I have grown since then and thankfully learned from my mistakes. Even though I don't play with makeup as much as I would like to, Benefit's cheeky and fun approach to beauty always reminds me that makeup doesn't always have to be so serious & boring!

How can I forget my first encounter with 'girl meets pearl'?

It was a rainy day almost two years ago so I went into a shop to cover myself from the rain. I wondered around for a bit when I noticed watchful eyes on me, so I turned around and there it was, openly flirting with me. It smiled and I smiled back. What can I say? I am weak. I fell into its trap straightaway. It was love at first sight.... and we have been together ever since :)

'Finding Mr Bright' - the kit is 'quite a catch' and it includes a lesson (in how to put the make up on) - what's not to smile about - now all that's needed is a bit of magic to make it really work (though I don't need it anymore, it could help out a few girls).

I love Bad Gal Lash Mascara, it is reasonably priced and gives an immaculate affect of a more expensive msscara, by separating the lashes and not clogging. It really makes me smile

My best friend bought me Benefit's Maybe Baby fragrance when I was pregnant with my little boy. I can't smell it now without thinking of this incredibly happy time in my life and the fragrance will always make me smile. @RedRoseMummy

I swear that my Porefessional has magical powers! I just have no idea how it does what it does, but it just does, and it's wonderful!
